What is Mutual Fund Investors Association?

The Mutual Fund Investors Association (MFIA) was founded in 1985 by Eric M. Kobren, a former Fidelity Investments executive. The goal of the organization was to help members manage their Fidelity funds for better returns with less risk. MFIA performed all the in-depth research and analysis that individual investors simply didn't have the time, inclination or expertise to do on their own. The results of these efforts, along with specific actionable recommendations and model portfolios, were presented to members each month in an easy-to-read investment report, Fidelity Insight.

Today MFIA's basic mission is unchanged, although with the launch of its second monthly investment report, FundsNet Insight, in 1994, its scope has broadened to include all fund families. MFIA members have their choice of investment reports, and benefit from the same extensive fund research and expertise used by our investment management arm, Kobren Insight Management which oversees approximately $750 million.
